John Holt and Gary Hoffman are hands-on owners of J.S. Holt Construction. Each brings a unique quality to the custom home building experience. Founder, John Holt brings to his clients 30 years of industry experience that began with his job as a property manager for the Klingbeil Company, a national apartment/condominium developer in 1971. After a few years there, working with customers from the end of construction through rent up, John moved on to The Bren Company (known today as The Irvine Company). In 1975, John worked as their project sales manager, supervising sales staff and selling new homes. In 3 short years, he had proven himself to be such a company asset that he was promoted to division sales manager and supervised the sales, marketing and mortgage loan processing for the northern California division. John furthered his experience in the industry by taking on the management of the homeowner's association for various projects in 1980. In 1983, John served as Vice President for Wamington Homes, a position that prepared him for the next big move in his career. A year later, he and partner Jeff Thayer formed Thayer & Holt, Inc. The company developed the Alamo Ridge Properties, which are the premier homes in Alamo, California. The association lasted nearly 10 years before John was sole proprietor. John also developed Summer Meadows in Alamo with 8 homes and Elizabeth Lane in Danville with 11 homes. He has secured a good reputation and is held in high regard throughout the industry for his commitment to excellence.

Gary Hoffman had his roots in Southern California and began his business in 1978 as a general contractor, specializing in framing. He moved to the Bay Area in 1981 and eventually started working with John in 1984. A closer business relationship began when Thayer and Holt, Inc., started development of Alamo Ridge in 1988.

Gary Hoffman became John's business partner in 1999. As dedicated to the complete satisfaction of every client as the company's name-sake, Gary puts his all into his work and constantly strives for client satisfaction. Gary makes himself not only available, but accessible; on the job site daily, prepared to answer any question the clients may pose. Gary conducts the final walk-through himself and personally sees to it that all touch ups and repairs are executed in timely fashion.
